Singles Living

Some of you may have just become singles, either from a bad break up or a divorce. If you were in a stable relationship for many years you may find it difficult to see the good in the singles life. This is why you should read our poll. Read the results of our poll where we took 100 singles and had them vote on their favorite thing about the singles living.

We asked a simple question, "What is your favorite thing about being single and about single living?"

Singles claimed that now that they are free of commitment, they had more time to themselves. They new that when they got home after work they didn't have to cater to anyone's needs or wants. They didn't have to worry about someone else and compromise.

This brings us to the independence aspect. Although this didn't come right away, singles enjoyed their independence. No more compromise, I came first. Not only did they have time for themselves but all the decisions were their own. They could decide when to go, when to stay, where to go and what do without having to worry about someone else.

Many of you recently singled men and women are probably saying that once you had your own time, you really didn't know what to do with it now that your partner was gone. Most of us in serious and long relationships start loosing apart of ourselves, which brings us to our next point, individuality. Singles claimed that after some time alone, they were then able to recreate their individuality. They didn't remember what they liked to do and eat because they were so used to having someone else dictate them or have to compromise again. They didn't remember what it felt like to have a complete opinion on life and do everything the way they like to.

Not only did singles claim they had more time for themselves, but they had more time for their friends. This was something that they lost once the relationship got serious. They claimed it suddenly felt nice to go out with old buddies and not have to worry about, "am I doing something wrong?" or "Is it getting late?". This freedom allowed them to enjoy their nights out more than before. We aren't saying that because you are in a relationship you don't enjoy going out. But singles claimed that you just felt less restricted on what you could do once you were single.

Finally, singles claimed that the best part of being singles is dating again. While this is extremely hard to do in the beginning, once you got in to it, dating was a fun part of the singles life. You constantly met new people, and found yourself in matchmaking situations. Suddenly there are all these first dates and just the excitement of getting crushes and finding someone sexy. Being able to look at other people guilt free.
